If I had to rate my involvement in music throughout my life I’d probably put myself on the interested but not passionate level. I love music and enjoy listening to all different kinds.
I had an excellent mother who was determined that I learn an instrument. As a young child I learned to play the cello. In middle school I wanted to move on to something more “cool” so I picked up the alto saxophone and was a member of the school band. Of course I had an excellent mother who was determined that I learn the piano. I was never very good at practicing and so I only ever became average at the instruments I did play.
